Gritty ITC SC hold nerve to clinch thriller

Cricket: Round-up: Mount Joy ride on half-centuries from Saptha, Chetan for easy win

ITC Sports Club scored a thrilling 15-run win over BEML Recreational Club in the league-cum-knockout KSCA Group II, Division II cricket tournament.

Batting first, ITC were bundled out for a below par 150 in 29.5 overs but BEML, chasing a small total, withered under pressure to finish at 135 all out in 28.3 overs.

Shanmugam (32) and Prakash (39) were the top scorers for ITC while Madhu Kumar (3/24) and J Nagaraja (2/27) were the pick of the bowlers for BEML.

MK Srinivas was the sole major contributor to the BEML innings with his 68 runs but N Srinivas (3/28) and Shanmugam (2/22) stopped ITC in their tracks to secure a facile win.

BMTC CC: 207/4 in 30 overs (Murthy 37, Manjuappa 71 n.o., Mohan 51 n.o.)beat Bosch SC, Naganathapura: 134 all out in 24.3 overs (Shakeel Ahmed 34, Sridar 31; Mohan 2-36, Srinivas 2-20, Arun 3-4).

CIL SC: 180/7 in 28 overs (Abdul Wajid 76, Venkatesh N 60; CN Govindraj 3-19, M R Krishna 2-46) bt ITI SC: 113 all out in 26.2 overs (Nagaraj KV 31, CN Govindraj 26; K Mahesh 2-10, Srinivas BS 2-24, Manoj Kumar 2-16, Enian 3-19).

Secretariat CC: 114 all out in 25.4 overs (Madhusudhan 27; R Babu 3-31, HR Chandra 5-13) lt to Bosch SC, Bangalore: 118/2 in 17.3 overs (Nanda Kishore 46, Nagaraj 35; Susheet Kumar 2-20).

Mount Joy victorious
Twin half-centuries from Saptha Girish and Chetan powered Mount Joy Cricket Club to a 42-run win against Whirlwind Cricketers in the KSCA Twenty20 tournament.
Batting first, MJCC piled on a mammoth 193 for seven in their allotted 20 overs. Girish (62) and Chetan (53) were the top scorers. In reply, Whirlwind cricketers were bundled out for 151 in 19.2 overs.
