CoWrks to expand operations

 CoWrks, a large format shared office space operator founded in 2016 in Bengaluru is expanding its operations to three cities — Mumbai, Chennai and Gurugram in the next six months by offering 4.6 lakh sq feet space.

The startup has opened its first center in RMZ Ecoworld recently. The centre is 1.6 lakh sq feet space and has been designed to stimulate a work culture that dwells on collaboration between a communities of like-minded individuals.

Apart from the design prowess, the facility equips the members working out of this centre with campus amenities at RMZ Ecoworld such as an amphitheatre, art gallery, retail outlets, an integrated and fully equipped health club — ACTIV that includes an infinity pool, outdoor gym, tennis and squash court, jogging track and an elaborate food court — the marketplace.

Speaking to DH, Sidharth Menda, CEO of CoWrks, said, “We have sold 3,000 seats available at our first centre in 40 days, with 40% space being occupied by large enterprises. People from small-scale enterprises, startups to a pool of freelancers, independent professionals, entrepreneurs, and Fortune 500 companies have enrolled with us as members under three different packages (flexible, dedicated and private studio). 

“Looking at a good response, we will be launching our second centre on Old Madras Road (50,000 sqft), and third centre at Whitefield (45,000 sqft), in Bengaluru. These two centres can accommodate 800 and 600 people respectively,” Menda added.
 
Sharing the future plans, Menda said that the company will be opening its first centre in Mumbai in January, wherein it can accommodate 1,300 people. Similarly, it will be launching one in Chennai in January (1,000 people), and Gurugram (1,000 people) by December this year. 

CoWrks’s brainchild Sidharth Menda is the son of Raj Menda, the co-owner and corporate chairman of RMZ Corp, one of the largest real estate developers in India with over 20 million sq feet of prime real estate developments since its inception in 2002. At present, CoWrkshas around 60 people working for it.
