The glamourous actor in Raveena Tandon has given way to a more emotional and mature one. After sizzling in an item song like Chandigarh Ki Star in Bbuddha Hoga Tera Baap, Raveena says she really enjoyed playing an emotionally intense role in Gin Liya Aasman and was equally at ease with her ultra glamourous character of a high society woman in ‘Shobhana 7 Nights’.
Both the movies, she confesses, have given her a chance to exploit and explore the actor in herself.
Talking about her experience of shooting for Gin Liya Aasman, Raveena points out that it’s a story of a mother and a son. “It’s a tale of how the son copes with the loss of his father and how the wife comes to terms after losing her husband.
The two people in question go through very different emotions. I got along really well with the little boy and I have been looking forward to shooting with kids for a long time,” Raveena tells Metrolife.
In ‘Shobhana 7 Nights’, Raveena will be seen as an ultra glamourous society woman. “It’s the love story of a woman and the three men in her life. It delves into the night life of Mumbai and my character borders on the grey.
It is neither negative nor positive,” explains Raveena. She says the film has captured the dark side of Mumbai pretty well. “It’s about people and how circumstances force them to do things they wouldn’t have otherwise done. The movie ‘Fashion’, for instance really took one through the world of glamour and fashion,” she adds.
Raveena is also busy hosting her chat show, Isi Ka Naam Zindagi, in which she interviews celebrities. Raveena, who has earlier judged shows like Chhote Miyan, Comedy Ka Mahamuqqabla and Chak De Bachche, says that this particular show is quite different from what she has done before.
“The format has a different approach altogether. We stay off controversies and try to focus on the what makes them different and what circumstances helped them get thus far,” shares Raveena. She observes that most of the people on her show have been her friends for years. “It’s an advantage when you know the interviewee. The comfort level is something different and they open up a lot more,” she adds.
After a rather exhaustive shooting schedule, Raveena is looking is forward to taking a break with her family. “I am reading a lot of scripts but I am not finalising anything until I take a good break,” she sums up.
