*Asymmetric hemline:
If you are looking to prep up your outfit this festive season, asymmetric hemlines are the way to go. Some like it flared, while others opt for comfort and go for exaggerated volumes put together in delicate pleats. Asymmetric kurtas paired with skirts or cigarette-pants will definitely make heads turn your way.
*Long kurta: Extended kurtas are here to stay. Experiment with your floor sweeping staple this festive season. Ditch the dupatta and go for cleaner, straight silhouettes. The extended kurtas are great for every body type, they impeccably contour body flaws and make you stand tall with poise. For a more glamorous move, opt for a front slit to flirtatiously show off your navel.
*Dhoti pants: Up your salwar game by replacing it with a dhoti. Dhoti pants are sassy yet cool. This piece of traditional Indian attire has long been worn by men. And what better time than now to place it in modern women’s closet. New age ready-to-wear dhoti-pants are hassle-free. Drapery solid colours in delicate fabrics are best when paired with matching tops as an excellent update to coordinates.
*Indian jacket: Want to look a million bucks? Invest in an embroidered Indian jacket. Another one of our home grown trends, an ethnic long jacket is the conventional fashion statement India has given to the world. Let it be the focal point of your outfit; dress up or down for any soiree by combining the Indian jacket with a simple lehenga or distressed denims.
*Maxi dress: For the ones who can’t stand the fuss of a salwar-kameez, an elaborated maxi dress is there to the rescue. No, you don’t have to compromise on looking ethnic, just pick a full length dress in brocade or silk, throw in some embroidery, add a dash of sparkle with an embellished clutch, and you are done.
*Stylish saree: There is no denying that nothing can accentuate your curves and ooze your femininity better than a saree.Crop tops are out and crop shirts are in; pair a collared crop shirt with a light weight saree in digitally printed patterns.
*Indie technique: Indie is the free-spirited bohemian vibe with a touch of ethnicity. Hand-dyed indigos are a rage both on the streets and runway. Choose from the eclectic collection of authentic Indian techniques, from indigo dyes to block prints. If you’re into accessories, this look is for you. Add chunky silver rings or stone studded cuffs to lift the mood of your rather sombre looking outfit.
