Prime Minister Narendra Modi is no gourmet, but he took time off on Tuesday for members of the Club des Chefs des Chefs, a club of presidential chefs from across the globe.

The club comprises personal chefs of the heads of state of two dozen countries. The chefs include the personal chefs to US President Barack Obama, Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom, French President François Hollande and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

The chefs said they were proud to feed the world’s most powerful and influential people in the world. Their Paris-based Association is currently holding its general assembly in India, for the first time. Besides Delhi, the chefs will be visiting Agra and Jaipur as well.

Those who called on the prime minister were led by Montu Saini, executive chef to President Pranab Mukherjee, who is hosting the conference.

Modi was told by the chefs that their aim is to promote local food and healthy eating habits.
