JOIN US Top seed Balraj Kajla will take on Nikhilshyam Sriram in the final of the U-19 boys’ category at the Tenvic Sports State-ranking Sub-junior & Junior badminton tournament on Saturday.
In the semifinal matches held on Friday, Kajla beat Kiran B 22-20, 21-9, while Sriram got the better of Raghu M 21-12, 22-20.
Meanwhile, in the U-17 final, Sai Pratheek Krishna Prasad and Tejas Kallolkar will battle it out for the top prize.
In their semifinal match, Prasad beat Bhargav S Gowda 21-15, 21-14, while Kallolkar overcame the challenge of Mayuresh Janpandit 21-18, 21-18.
In the girls’ U-19 final, Deepthi Ramesh will be up against Archana Pai.
Deepthi didn’t have to stretch much in her semifinal tie as her opponent, Apeksha Nayak pulled out half way through the opening game of the encounter.
In the other last four tie, Archana saw off a stiff challenge from Drithi Yatheesh 26-24, 21-18 to book her place in the summit tie.
