Six people were injured in clashes between two communities in the communally-sensitive town of Aligarh in Uttar Pradesh, about 400 km from here.
The police and PAC have been deployed in several areas across the town and the forces staged a flag march to instill confidence among the people, according to official sources here on Tuesday.
Trouble sparked off on Monday night, while some youths were bursting crackers at Babri Mandi locality in the town. Two motorbike-borne youths, who hail from a different community and were passing by, were slightly injured by the crackers.
Members of the two communities indulged in heavy stone- pelting and also fired at each other. At least six people sustained injuries in the clashes.
Around a dozen people have been booked, the police added. Two days ago one person was shot dead near the same locality after a clash between two communities.
