Foundation for govt engg college today

Kushalnagar, Mar 13, DHNS:

The foundation stone for the Government Engineering College building will be laid on March 14 at 2 pm.

The college was started three years ago and has been offering civil, computer science, electronics and communication mechanical courses. At present, 700 students are pursuing their education in the college, said Principal Dr Venkatesh.

According to the blueprint of the college building, the estimated cost of the building is Rs 20 crore. Of which, Rs 17.5 crore has been released by the government. The construction of the building will be undertaken by Karnataka Housing Board. Government has urged to complete the work within 18 months. In the first phase, college complex, laboratory, workshop will be built., In the second phase, hostel will be built.

The foundation stone will be laid by Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa at 2 pm. MLA M P Appacchuranjan, Assembly Speaker K G Bopaiah, Higher Education Minister Aravinda Limbavalli, District-in-Charge Minister Krishna Palemar, Housing Minister Katta Subrahmanya Naidu, Planning Commission Deputy Chairman D H Shankaramurthy, MP H Vishwanath and others will take part.
