The mehndi ceremony of Brahmani Reddy, daughter of mining baron and former minister Gali Janardhana Reddy, was held at a specially-constructed wedding set, a replica of a palace of Sri Krishnadevaraya of the erstwhile Vijayanagar empire, at Palace Grounds.

There was a Rajasthani folk dance performance by Triveni troupe, when the mehndi programme was going on. Close relatives of the two families, a few friends and daughter of MP Sriramulu, were part of the ceremony.

Later, as the muhurta time began, guests and fans of Janardhana Reddy and Sriramulu gathered in large numbers. The entrance, leading from Mount Carmel College in Vasanthnagar, was elaborately decorated. The entire stretch leading to the TV station and Palace Grounds was lit up.

Meanwhile, there was heavy police presence at the Palace Grounds. During the musical programme in the evening, Janardhana Reddy surprised the guests and the audience as he danced for a few numbers from the movies of Rajanikanth and Chiranjeevi.

The crowd acknowledged the performance with great applause. On Tuesday (November 15), film stars from the Kannada and Telugu film industry including Tamanna, Rakul Preet Singh, Priyamani and Sneha are likely to attend.
