A third year law student of National Law School of India University committed suicide by hanging in her hostel room of the university, on Tuesday. Nishi (20) was a native of Jharkhand.
In her death note, she stated that she was suffering from abdominal pain and could no longer bear it. Hence, she decided to commit suicide. She apologised to her parents for this decision. Nishi had not attended classes on Tuesday. The incident came to light when her friends returned to the hostel, said the police.
Youth dies in accident
A 25-year-old youth was killed in a road accident near Begur lake in Electronics City on Monday night. The deceased is Ifthikar, a carpenter and resident of Begur, who was returning home after work when the accident took place.
Police said that the accident occurred at around 9.45 pm when a speeding car hit his two-wheeler from behind. Due to the impact of the collision, Ifthikar fell down and the car ran over his head killing him on the spot. Passersby alerted the Electronics City police who visited the spot and shifted the body for a post-mortem.
Police said that the driver of the car fled the spot abandoning the vehicle. Efforts are on to trace the driver, while the vehicle has been seized.
