Bangalore People's Forum, consisting of various organisations in the City, released a 'People's Manifesto' for the BBMP elections here on Monday.

Speaking about governance Leo Saldanha from Hasiru Usiru said BBMP must be administered by the mayor-in-council system.
"Extra-constitutional bodies like ABIDe (Agenda for Bengaluru Infrastructure and Development Task Force) must be immediately abolished,” Saldanha said. A Metropolitan Planning Committee must immediately be constituted as the planning agency, he said. Obalesh from Jana Arogya Andolana Karnataka said the public demand a comprehensive health care system with no user charges.
Various other demands related to accessibility for the disabled, mobility and public transport, culture, parks and open spaces, heritage, natural resources management, public education, social justice, protection of unorganised workers, children's rights, urban poverty and animal welfare are included in the manifesto.
