Actor Athiya Shetty says she doesn’t feel the pressure to look good all the time as it is okay for celebrities to be imperfect. “I don’t think we (actors) have to look good all time. I feel it is important for people to know that we are human beings and it is okay to have a bad hair day. We are not going to be perfect all the time,” Athiya said.

“As long as you are comfortable in your skin it is okay. I don’t think the photographers capture you because they want to project you in certain way...I think they are doing their job,” she said. The ‘Hero’ actor, who has made impressive outings on the red carpet, says fashion for her is an extension of her personality.

“For me, fashion is an extension of my personality. It is something I have fun with. I don’t think too much about it people think I think too much about fashion but I don’t. I don’t believe in fashion faux pas. You make mistakes and you learn from it.” Athiya says she does not believe in following fashion trends and choses to be dressed up in comfortable robes.

“The only way I keep myself updated about fashion is through social media. But I don’t believe in following trends. I wear what is comfortable and dress according to my body type and I feel that is important. I have fun with it,” she said. Besides films, Athiya says she is closely associated with NGO ‘Save the Children’, which was founded by her maternal grandmother.

She is also supporting the drive by city-based mall Phoenix Marketcity, Kurla, which will donate proceeds of its special offer to mark its 5th anniversary, to the NGO. “I have been part of ‘Save the Children’ and my association with it is strong as it was founded by my nani. After she passed away, my mom took over to look after the school. It’s a school for underprivileged children who are mentally disabled and have learning disabilities,” she said.

“I have also seen them pass their 10th class, which was a big moment and huge achievement for them. It’s a great initiative that Phoenix mall is supporting the charity. I feel education is really important whether for a boy or girl. I am here because I am educated. I am confident today and can express my views and opinions,” she said.
