Man shot dead in road rage case

In a case of road rage, a 25-year-old businessman was shot dead in east Delhi's New Ashok Nagar area following an argument with a SUV driver whose vehicle brushed against his car.

Deepak Bhadana, a resident of Faridabad, was returning from a wedding with his relatives yesterday night when the incident took place, police said today.

Deepak was stuck in a jam with his relatives on the Dallupura-Kondli road when the SUV bearing a VIP number and a Uttarakhand number plate brushed past their car hitting the  bumper and the rear view mirror from the driver's side.

"Deepak got down to talk to the accused. They had an argument. The accused was drunk and hence the  other relatives asked Deepak to sit in the car," said Deepak's relative.

As Deepak's car moved ahead, the accused whipped out his pistol and fired, his relative said. The bullet hit Deepak behind his ear and he died on the spot, police said.

Deepak had a cow fodder business.He was the only earning member of his family as his younger brothers are  studying.

A PCR call was made and he was rushed to Metro Hospital in Noida where he was declared brought dead.

The accused has been identified as 40-year-old Yashpal, a property dealer who has been arrested, police said.
