‘JD(S) new units in C’magalur within 15 days’
‘Youth to get opportunity this time’
JD(S) District President H H Devaraj has said that the old units of JD(S) at the hobli, taluk, and the district-levels will be done away with and new units will be framed within next 15 days so as to fortify the party and to provide opportunity to sincere, hardworking and dedicated youth.
Addressing a news conference on Wednesday, he said that secular activities should not be confined only to politics but it should be taken to common people as ‘Janandholan’.
“I have the responsibility of strengthening the party from the grassroot level,” he said and added that a Congress leader who grew in JD(S) has called JD(S) as ‘cancer’ for the nation, which is very unfortunate.
“This leader was in JD(S) for many years and gaining many things from JD(S) he became the MLC on JD(S) ticket. He has only shown his true colours. He had joined hands with BJP for the co-operative bank elections,” said Devaraj and added that this leader is keeping close nexus with the BJP to gain benefits in the co-operative bank election. Hence, the elections should be held as per the High Court order.
He said that MLAs and MP of the region have failed to get any funds to solve the serious situation that farmers have been living in. He said that Government will be urged to waive off all the loans taken by the farmers.
“BJP Government at the state has only the body and has no hands, legs, mouth and ears. It is hence an incomplete Government. The MLAs and MP representing this district are corrupt and are working only for their own gains,” he said alleging MLAs C T Ravi and Kumaraswamy of competing with each other to become sand mining barons thereby forgetting the good of the people.
He said that JD(S) will stage a district-wide protest on March 23 against anti-people policies of State and Central Government.
