As the third anniversary of the BJP in Rajasthan is approaching, Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje on Saturday inducted six new ministers, including four of Cabinet rank, at the Raj Bhavan in Jaipur.

Vasundhara, who dropped two ministers from her Cabinet, however, tried to maintain a caste equation in her council of ministers.

The four newly inducted Ministers of State (MoS) are Kamsa Meghwal from Jodhpur, Sushil Katara from Chorasi, Dhan Singh Rawat from Banswara and Banshidhar Bajia from Khandela, while two MoS elevated to the Cabinet rank are Ajay Singh Kilak and Baboo Lal Verma.

The two first-time entrants at the Cabinet level are Jaswant Singh Yadav (Behror) and Shrichand Kriplani (Nimbahera).

While Vasundhara’s Cabinet got a new look, two ministers — MoS, General Administration and State Motor Garage, Jheetmal Khant, and MoS, Law and Parliamentary Affairs, (Jodhpur, Bailada) Arjun Lal Garg — were shown the door.

The long-due and much-anticipated reshuffle was formally announced by Vasundhara late on Friday night, and she had directed all the ministers to rush to Jaipur on Saturday morning.

Rajasthan Governor Kalyan Singh administered the oath of office, Constitution and secrecy to the new ministers at a function, which was thronged by supporters.

The council of ministers, along with the chief minister, now has 30 members, with 17 Cabinet and 12 state ministers.
