BFlat will present a concert with world fusion band ‘MoonArra’ featuring Phil Scarff, a USA based saxophonist, on January 22, 8 pm onwards at its premises. ‘MoonArra’ is an Indian classical, jazz band that features Jagadeesh M R (Guitars, Oud), Madhuri Jagadeesh (vocals), Prakash Sontakke (slide guitar, Hindustani vocals) and Karthik Mani (Indian percussions/drums and konnakol).

MoonArra means ‘three streams’ and was formed in 2006 as a fusion of the interaction and collective influences of Indian classical, jazz and world music influences of its members. As part of its explorations and to connect with musicians and audiences worldwide, ‘MoonArra’ are also ambassadors of culture, bringing the message of peace and harmony, goodwill and tolerance in today’s environment.

Their music reflects the band members' quest and fascination for beautiful sounds that emanate world over; how sounds traveled from Northern India in the 13th century, journeyed through Persia, Morocco even up to Andalusia, Spain and the rest of the world.

Phil Scarff has performed with Indian classical music icons Ronu Majumdar, Shashank, Kadri Gopalnath, Umayalpuram K Sivaraman, Trichy Sankaran, and Chitravina Ravikiran. A prolific musician, he is featured on 30 internationally acclaimed CDs and DVDs.

The audience can expect a melange of melodious Indian classical, jazz and world music, replete with percussion, both instrumental and vocal. Tickets are priced at Rs 400 and are available on www.bookmyshow.com and also at BFlat.

Seating is on a first-come-first-served basis.
