The life in a village

The Silicon City Group of Institutions, K R Puram, recently celebrated the ‘Festival of Colours’ at its campus. The day was dedicated to farmers and the students brought alive the village atmosphere in the city. There were 15 huts constructed by the students and each hut was traditionally decorated and had a separate living space for cows, goats etc. There was also a well was built in the area to fetch water.

The chief guest for the day was VVR Shasthri, the retired executive director of Centre for Development of Telematics. He was impressed by the village atmosphere created by the students and was thrilled with the hospitality extended by the students during his visit to each hut. He thanked students for making him feel one with the village culture.

Chandrashekar also said that it was after many years that he had the opportunity to visit a village created by the students. He said that the present generation do not know how a village looks like and the lifestyle of villagers and farmers. He also added that the students made a wonderful contribution by recreating the lifestyle of a village and that should be seen by every individual.

The last day of the ‘Festival of Colours’ ‘was celebrated as the ‘Ethnic Day’ and all the students wore colourful clothes representing the culture and traditions of various parts of the state. The crowd was enthralled by the folk dance and songs presented by the students.

Delicious sweets were also distributed to everyone on the occasion. Research director B Rose Kavitha, principal Gnanesh, PU principal Adilakshmi, professor Pushpa, Jyothi Gupta and the members of the Silicon City Group of Institutions were present on the occasion.
