Dear Madam,
I am a Class 12 (Science) student. I want to do Business studies, preferably in Singapore or USA. Could you please suggest some good Business schools in these countries. Also provide information about the requirements and tests.
Prajwal Banakar

Dear Prajwal,
SMU, NUS and NTU are the best in Singapore for Business studies. In the US, you could consider Wharton School of Business at University of Pennsylvania, Hass Business School at UC Berkeley, Marshall School of Business at University of Southern California, Kellogg’s at Northwestern, Stern at NYU, Lubin at Pace and Tepper at Carnegie Mellon University. You would need to write SAT, Subject SAT and TOEFL iBT.

Dear Madam,
I have completed MSc in Botany and am interested in pursuing higher studies (MS) in Agricultural Science. Can you please inform if I am eligible to take up MS in Agricultural Science. I would like to know about other Agriculture-related courses I can explore abroad.
Sandhya

Dear Sandhya,
Yes, you are eligible to study Agricultural Science. Only, there is no need to get double masters when you can move on to a career in Agriculture with your MSc Botany. If you are very keen, universities will be happy to accept you. Agronomy, Horticulture, Plant Protection, Agricultural Development, Agricultural Economics, Forest and Nature Management, Sustainable Tropical Forestry are some of the areas you could specialise in.

Dear Madam,
I am a house surgeon. I would like to pursue postgraduation in Paediatrics abroad, except in USA and UK. Kindly suggest some
alternatives.
Anurag

Dear Anurag,
I would suggest Canada, New Zealand and Australia. Getting long stay visas and work permits is relatively easier in these countries. You will need to write the MCAT exam and any one English testing exam like the IELTS, TOEFL or PTE.

Dear Madam,
I am a second year BCom student. I want to pursue my MSc in Finance in France. I want to know if work experience is required to study in a public university in France. Also, please suggest some good public universities to pursue it. And is there a scope for the subject?
Gautam R

Dear Gautam,
EDHEC Business School, Grenoble Ecole de Management, IESEG School of Management, HEC School of Management, ESSEC Business School are some of the well-known schools in France for Masters in Finance. While most of them will accept your three-year Bachelors, some of them might want you to study an additional year with them. The MSc programme is a one year full-time course. GMAT (preferred) or GRE is required along with an English test such as TOEFL iBT or IELTS. Work experience is not required.

There is a huge scope for Finance. Career options could be in Investment Banking, Financial Analysis, Corporate Finance, Commercial Banking, Insurance, Real Estate, Public and Private Companies, Consulting Firms, Non finance Companies, Education etc.

Dear Madam,
I am in the fifth semester of Electronics & Communications engineering. But I am more interested in Aerospace engineering. However, as an Electronics student, can I do my MS in Aerospace engineering in India or abroad, preferably US? If yes, how should I prepare for it?
A student

Dear Student,
Although universities would prefer students with a background of Mechanical engineering for MS in Aerospace engineering, they would be open to accepting students from other Bachelor programmes. You must take your GRE and TOEFL test. Write a strong statement of purpose stating your interest in the subject, career goals and the choice of your university. Your resume should highlight your academic and extracurricular achievements, honours and awards won, work experience, projects, internships, publications etc.

Dear Madam,
I am in the fifth semester of engineering (Computer Science & Engineering). What is the right time to take GRE? Please suggest me some good reading materials that help me while preparing for the test.
A student

Dear Student,
Take the GRE when you are in your sixth semester. Go to www.ets.org to access practice papers and to register for the test. There is a lot of suggested reading material on their website. Manhattan prep is one of them. The power prep test is the closest to the actual test. Take the power prep test twice before you take the GRE.

Dear Madam,
I have completed my GRE and TOEFL a month back. My score for GRE is 308. I completed my engineering under VTU with an aggregate of 60%. I have worked as a pen tester for two years. The categorisation of universities as safe, reachable and ambitious for MS in Cyber Security is obscure. Finding people in the same course is quite hard. I am planning for 2017 fall. Kindly help me out.
Karthik

Dear Karthik,
To get into one of the top universities you would require a minimum GRE of 325 and a TOEFL of 110. The good news is there are lots of excellent universities in the US offering MS in Cyber Security. Your work experience is an advantage which will help them look beyond the GRE & TOEFL scores. For a complete listing of universities and application guidance, please visit www.umaaswani.com.
