Priyanka recently won her first National Award for her portrayal of a small town girl trying to make it big in the world of modelling in Madhur Bhandarkar's 'Fashion'.
She went on to surprise critics with her power-packed performance as a feisty Maharashtrian girl in Vishal Bhardwaj's 'Kaminey' besides doing masala films like 'What's Your Rashee?' and 'Pyaar Impossible'.

"It has always been a conscious effort throughout my career to be versatile. I am fortunate enough to be enjoying films like Siddharth Anand's 'Anjaana Anjaani' with Ranbir Kapoor on one hand and Vishalji's (Bhardwaj) next on another. Thankfully, it's all working out quite well," says Priyanka.

The 27-year-old is playing the lead in Vishal Bhardwaj's 'Saat Khoon Maaf', which is based on a story by Rushkin Bond. The actress will have a pick of leading actors opposite her as her character will marry seven men only to kill them one by one.
But despite being in the industry for so long, Priyanka says it is difficult to know beforehand whether a film of hers would get bouquets or brickbats.
"I tend to lose objectivity around my work. I don't do films hoping that it would fetch me awards. Yes, it is indeed an amazing feeling when you get it but as an individual I have never been too sure or formed an opinion about my work," says Priyanka.

The former Miss World has not looked back since her first film 'Andaaz' in 2003 where she starred opposite Akshay Kumar. She has already acted in 30 films and won a dozen odd awards.

Priyanka credits her success in the industry to the right kind of projects that came her way.

"For me content is the most important thing. As an actor you may come up with a great performance but if your film's content is weak, a performance can't make any difference to the final product. Both components have to be in the right mix."
And the actress believes that commercial films are also opting for good content over masala.

"There have been a lot of commercial films which have been getting quite some visibility at the highest levels over the last few years. The trend is changing. There is a lot of meaningful content in films like these," says the actress.
Priyanka has just returned from the US shoot of 'Anjaana Anjaani', which appears to be an out and out commercial entertainer. The film is arriving in theatres this October.
She would also be beginning shoot for Farhan Akhtar's sequel to 'Don' with Shah Rukh Khan and Vishal Bhardwaj's next which would have seven male actors opposite here.
If reports are to be believed Mohan Lal, Naseeruddin Shah, John Abraham, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Irrfan Khan and Arshad Warsi will play Priyanka's onscreen husbands.
Also, grapevine is abuzz that she would be playing the main lead in Arshad Warsi's debut directorial venture. All these films would arrive in 2011.
