JOIN USThe Viveknagar police have arrested a 27-year-old man on charges of molestation and robbery on Thursday.
The arrested has been identified as Suresh alias Raju, a resident of Chikka Kammanahalli on Bannerghatta Road, south Bengaluru.
According to the police, the incident took place on the midnight of December 29, 2016, when a 26-year-old woman software engineer was walking to her PG accommodation in Ejipura.
She had just alighted from her company cab and was 500 metres away from her PG digs when the miscreant, who was on a motorcycle, grabbed her and molested her before making away with her phone.
Caught on camera
A complaint was registered on the next day at the Viveknagar police station.
The police analysed the closed-circuit television camera footage and found that it was an act of a repeat offender.
The accused has been remanded in judicial custody.
