Wipro earthian awards given to schools, colleges

 Wipro earthian awards 2016 were given away to winning teams from schools and colleges across the country on Saturday.  

The sixth edition of Wipro earthian - a sustainability education programme for schools and colleges - received more than 1,000 submissions, out of which 10 schools and 10 colleges were selected as winners by an independent expert jury.

For schools, the programme consisted of two parts- one focused on encouraging a level of understanding of the themes through various activities detailed in booklets. In the second part, the teams were asked to submit essays that conveyed the essence of their understanding of the chosen topic.   

The winning institutes were awarded a certificate each, along with cash prizes by Wipro Limited chairman Azim Premji as part of a special day-long event on its Sarjapur campus.
