Thick smoke emanated from inside the car while it was on the bridge around 5 pm. Within seconds, the car caught fire and it was in flames.<br /><br />“We drove an ambulance in one-way from the opposite direction and reached the spot within 10 minutes. We doused the fire and cleared the car,” said, Rao Ganesh, HSR Layout traffic inspector.<br /><br />The incident occurred during peak hours. Moreover, a large number of cars pass on the bridge on Fridays as professionals go out of the city in their private vehicles.
