Valedictory of Vidyadayini school centenary

The valedictory programme of centenary celebrations of Vidyadayini School, Suratkal, will be held at the school premises on February 19.

Addressing reporters in Mangaluru on Tuesday, Hindu Vidyadayini Sangha president P Ranjan Rao said that Sneha Sammilana, a get together programme for old students of the school, will be held at 10 am. Teaching and non-teaching staff of the school will be felicitated on the occasion. Following which, cultural programmes will be held.

The valedictory stage function will be held at 4 pm. Idya Mahalingeshwara Temple managing trustee I Ramanand Bhat will deliver the religious lecture, M P Nalin Kumar Kateel, MLC Capt Ganesh Karnik, Mangaluru North MLA B A Mohiyuddin Bava and others will be guests.

Vidyadayini Research Centre will be inaugurated and souvenir will be released on the occasion. Commemoration of Vidyadayini School Founder Uppaje Venkataramanaiah and Mairpadi Venkataramanaiah will also be held.

A Yakshagana puppet show will be performed by Bhaskar Kogga Kamat of Kundapur, he said.

Hindu Vidyadayini Sangha secretary M Venkatrao, centenary committee working president Satish Rao Idya, secretary Harish Pejavar and Vidyadayini Alumni Association president Sridhar H were present.
