Last Updated 21 February 2017, 19:57 IST

The BBMP has invited suggestions from the public on its website for its upcoming budget, in a step towards making it a citizen-friendly budget.

Citizens can log on to the website www.bbmp.gov.in and click on the ‘citizen feedback’ icon. People can give their name, phone number, email id and the suggestions on the page that opens.

“From today (Tuesday), we have opened the BBMP website to accept people’s suggestions. We want people to participate more in the functioning of the Palike,” said M K Gunashekar, chairperson of the BBMP standing committee on taxation and finance.

A drop-box has also been placed at the entrance of the Palike’s head office at NR Square for people to drop their suggestions. “We will take into consideration all the suggestions before preparing the budget,” said Gunashekar. Bengaluru Development Minister K J George held a pre-budget meeting with officials of the urban development department and BBMP on Tuesday. The meeting discussed topics like revenue, town planning and health, said BBMP sources.
