Nrupathunga Road closed from Monday

Last Updated 23 February 2017, 20:37 IST

Nrupathunga Road in the city will be closed for 30 days beginning Monday as the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) will be white topping this stretch.

The BBMP, which is giving final touches to the TenderSURE project, will layer the road with cement to ensure it stays put for 30 years. Considering the inconvenience the restrictions will cause, the BBMP will carry out work on one side of the road while allowing only BMTC buses to ply on the other side. The traffic police and the horticulture department have agreed to allow two-wheelers and cars to reach Hudson Circle through Cubbon Park.

The traffic department has also agreed to shift the parking area inside Cubbon Park, near the city civil court, to Bannappa Park to ensure smooth vehicular movement, said BBMP Commissioner N Manjunatha Prasad.
