BMTC changes bus routes to ease traffic on choked Sheshadri Road

Last Updated 01 March 2017, 19:37 IST

Traffic snarls at Sheshadri Road due to segregation of vehicles, allowing only BMTC buses and cars of officials to ply on Nrupatunga Road, has forced the BMTC authorities to change bus routes.

It was a bumper-to-bumper traffic from Ananda Rao Circle flyover to K R Circle even in the lean hours on Wednesday. The road was choked with vehicles moving at a snail’s pace as police segregated traffic to allow BMTC buses and official cars to Nrupatunga Road while all other vehicles were diverted to Hudson Circle via Cubbon Park.

The change in BMTC bus routes will be a win-win situation as it will lead to lesser burden on Sheshadri Road while allowing free flow of other vehicles.
