The High Court has rejected the appeal of Swami Nithyananda seeking a direction to prevent possible arrest by the Bidadi Police in connection with two complaints against him.

Hearing the Criminal Revision Petitions, Justice Arali Nagaraj rejected the plea of the petitioner.

“The petitioner’s appeal seeking direction to the police not to arrest him cannot be issued considering the pending disposal of petition seeking to quash the investigation,” Nagaraj observed.

Directing the petitioner to approach a proper forum to seek anticipatory bail, the bench said that the apprehension of the petitioner is unfounded as the investigation papers did not show any records.

During the hearing when Chandramouli, Counsel for the petitioner sought to know how the case was registered without knowing the correct contention as the entire complaint and the one transferred to Bidadi Police is in Tamil Language. He pointed out that even the copy submitted to the Court is in Tamil.

The Government pleader submitted that he would get the copy translated and the same would be submitted to the Court.

Justice Nagaraj directed the Police to submit the translated copies in Kannada and English. “This petition cannot be proceeded unless the pleader submits all the documents sent in Tamil Language in Kannada and English language,” the bench said. The Court directed that all the documents be submitted on March 30.

It could be recalled that Nithyananda Swamy is in the centre of a controversy after several electronic media channels aired the clippings of his alleged sleazy acts along with Tamil Actress Ranjitha.

He has now moved the High Court challenging the probe and compliant against him.
