The Karnataka High Court on Monday granted bail to Govinde Gowda, husband of former corporator Varamahalakshmi who is accused in the murder of BJP leader Chikkathimmegowda.
Justice P S Dinesh Kumar granted bail on the grounds that another accused in the murder was also granted bail. Chikkathimmegowda was hacked to death on November 8, 2016, by a gang when he was riding a bike.
The petitioner's advocate had argued that as the charge sheet has already been filed, the petitioner would cooperate in the investigation. The judge granted conditional bail to Govinde Gowda.
