The many career opportunities available in the city are often the main driving force for people to choose Bengaluru as their base.

One can find individuals from all parts of the country stepping into the city with a dream to make it big.

Sanchita Jha, belonging to Patna, and her husband Mohan Gupta, hailing from West Bengal, also came to Bengaluru to chase their dreams.

Residing in Bellandur, the couple have been settled in the city since the past one year. Both of them are working in the IT sector and they feel that there couldn’t have been a more suitable place for their professional growth.

“Since Bengaluru is the IT hub, I always wanted to get a job here. The work culture
of the city is impressive and the pleasant weather is an added advantage,” says
Sanchita.

“I was working in Hyderabad for about two years but then I realised that I like Bengaluru more and I returned here. The people here are warm and full of life. You get a positive vibe from everyone you meet, be it in a mall or on the road. We connect to people here,” adds Mohan.

The two find time to spend with each other only on the weekends and they enjoy each other’s company thoroughly. They find the pub culture here quite exciting and like to explore a new pub each time.

Mohan says, “The best thing about Bengaluru is that there are a lot of amazing places around to go to, be it for a road trip or just for a fun weekend getaway.”

Two of their favourite destinations are Ooty and Goa. In fact, they travel to Goa at least two to three times a year.

“We also love visiting Coorg, Puducherry and Kabini. However, if we are not travelling, we usually catch a movie followed by dinner,” he adds.

“We also hit the community gym located in our area almost every weekend. Sometimes, we indulge in recreational activities like swimming as well,” says Sanchita.

The two also like to participate in quirky photoshoots quite often. Their friends play an important role in their life and they make sure to hang out with them whenever they find time.

Talking about how the city is different from their respective hometowns, Mohan says that Bengaluru is modern in its approach in every way.

“Bengaluru is a big city and therefore, all kinds of services are available to its residents. The city is also better connected.”

The broad-minded outlook of the people here is another thing that has impressed them. “The fact that people here mind their own business makes it a preferred place to stay. Women can go out at any time of the day or night and still feel safe,” highlights Sanchita.
