A real-life story comes alive

Last seen in Hansal Mehta’s ‘Aligarh’ sharing the screen with Manoj Bajpayee, Bollywood actor Rajkumar Rao will once again be spotted working with the National award winning director.

Reportedly, both are set to take their association to the next level with ‘Omerta’, based on the life journey of terrorist Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheikh, who is believed to be responsible for the murder of ‘Wall Street Journal’ reporter Daniel Pearl in 2002.

“There was a scene in which the police remand Omar. For this scene, I had to be hung upside down. The action crew and actors were required to thrash me for the scene. So I asked them to actually beat me up,” revealed the 32-year-old, who also bagged the National Award for his power-packed performance in ‘Shahid‘.

“It’s important that the scene looks authentic. I wanted to feel the pain because that makes Omar mentally strong. I wasn’t scared,” added Rao. Interestingly, this will be Rao’s third movie with Hansal in four years.
