Special trains to clear extra rush

Railways act to facilitate holiday travellers

To clear extra rush during summer, the following special trains will be introduced:

Mysore-Rameswaram-Mysore Weekly Special:

The Mysore-Rameswaram Weekly Special (Train no. 0689) will leave Mysore at 7.30 p.m. on Mondays and arrive at Bangalore City at 10.45 p.m.

 It will leave Bangalore City at 11 p.m. to reach Rameswaram at 1.30 pm on Tuesdays.
The first service from Mysore will commence on April 5 and the last train will be on June 28. The train will run via Mandya, Maddur, Chennapatna, Ramanagaram, Kengeri, Bangalore City, Bangalore Cantonment, Hosur, Dharmapuri, Salem, Erode, Karur, Dindigul, Madurai, Manmadurai, Paramakudi,  Ramanathapuram and Mandapam to reach Rameswaram.


The Rameswaram-Mysore Weekly Special (Train no. 0690) will leave Rameshwaram at 7 p.m. on Tuesdays and touch Bangalore City at 9 a.m. on Wednesdays.

It will leave Bangalore City at 9.10 a.m. and touch Mysore at 12 noon. The first service will commence from April 6 and the last service will be on June 29.

Mysore-Chennai-Mysore Weekly Special:

The Mysore-Chennai Weekly Special (Train no. 0687) leaves Mysore at 7.20 p.m. on Wednesdays and arrive at Bangalore City at 10.45 p.m. It will leave Bangalore City at 11 p.m. to reach Chennai at 5.15 a.m. on Thursdays.

 The first service from Mysore will commence from April 14 and the last service will be on June 30.  

The train will run via Mandya, Maddur, Chennapatna, Ramanagarm, Kengeri, Bangalore City, Bangalore Cantonment, Krishnarajapuram, Whitefield, Bangarpet, Kuppam, Jollarpettai, Katpadi, Arakkonam and Perambur to reach Chennai.

The Chennai-Mysore Weekly Special (Train no. 0688) will leave Chennai at 8.40 p.m. on Thursdays and arrive at Bangalore City at 3.40 a m on Fridays.

It will leave Bangalore City at 4 a m to arrive at Mysore at 7.10 a.m.
The first service from Rameswaram will be on April 15 and the last service will be on July 1.

Tri-weekly Rajdhani Express begins

A new tri-weekly Rajdhani Express commenced its maiden run between Bangalore City and Hazrat Nizammudin on Friday (March 26).

The Bangalore City-Hazrat Nizamuddin Rajdhani Express (Train no. 2493), which commenced from Bangalore City at 8.20 p.m. will reach Hazrat Nizammudin at 5.50 a.m.
It will run on Fridays, Saturdays and Tuesdays and reach Hazrat Nizammudin on Sundays, Mondays and Thursdays.

It will run via Shri Satya Sai Prasanthi Nilayam, Gooty, Dhone, Kurnool Town, Mahbubnagar, Secunderabad, Kazipet, Nagpur, Bhopal and Jhansi to reach Hazrat Nizammuddin.

The first run of Hazrat Nizammudin-Bangalore City Rajdhani Express (Train no. 2494) from Hazrat Nizammudin will be on March 28. 

It will leave at 8.50 p.m. and arrive at Bangalore City at 6.40 a.m. on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
