2 held trying to smuggle 1.2 kg gold at KIA

In two separate incidents, customs officials at Kempegowda International Airport arrested two persons and recovered gold biscuits weighing over 1,200 gm worth over Rs 36 lakh.
The arrested have been identified as Rambahan Yadav (40) and Shaheed Muhammed Poochakkad (34), both travelling on the Dubai-Goa-Bengaluru Air India flight. The gold biscuits were concealed in insulation tape kept in a polythene bag.
They did not have any documents related to the gold.
The Narcotics Control Bureau on Tuesday raided a call centre in Thanisandra and seized Rs 56 lakh worth tablets that were being sold online illegally. The officials also arrested two persons identified as Salim Pasha and Mohammad Suhail Ahmed and booked them under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.
