Posters asking the Kashmiris living in Uttar Pradesh to leave the state appeared in state's Meerut town, about 500 kilometres from here.

The posters, which were put up by a little known outfit 'Uttar Pradesh Navnirman Sena', said that those, who pelted stones at the security personnel in Kashmir, should not be allowed to stay in the state.

The posters carried the name of Amit Jani, a former Samajwadi Party (SP) leader.

''The posters have been removed and a case has been registered in this regard,'' said a senior police official in Meerut on Friday.

Jani, on the other hand, said that stone pelting on the 'jawans' would not be tolerated under any circumstances. ''We plan to launch a movement to drive the Kashmiris out of the state,'' he added.
