Drunk techies tricked, robbed of their valuables

Three unidentified men robbed two software engineers of their valuables on Hosur Main Road on Thursday night.

According to the police, Deepak from Punjab and Tiwari from Uttar Pradesh, both working for a private firm in the city went to a bar and restaurant on Hosur Main Road. The suspects, who were also drinking at the bar, noticed that the two were heavily drunk and decided to rob them of their valuables.

The plan
One of them approached Tiwari seeking a lighter for his cigarette. He noticed Deepak using his cellphone and booking a cab online. The trio went out of the bar and waited there, added the police.

They approached the two when they came out and claimed that the cab was ready. Being in an inebriated state, they fell for the trick.  Around 10 minutes later, the trio threatened the two software engineers at knifepoint inside the cab and robbed them of their cards, cellphones and watches. They abandoned the victims on the road and drove off.  The police have collected CCTV footage of the bar to trace the trio.
