The High Court of Karnataka on Thursday granted eight weeks’ stay on the suspension order of BBMP Chief Engineer (Major Roads) K T Nagaraj.

Nagaraj was accused of amassing wealth and booked for disproportionate assets by the Anti-Corruption Bureau.

Justice G Narendar granted stay on the ground that there was not material to prove the allegations.
While calculating his assets, the ACB had not considered the income tax assessment and included even his spouse’s income.

The judge granted stay for eight weeks and said final order is subject to the result of the writ petition.
In another matter, the high court directed the BBMP not to take coercive action against Fortis Hospital, Cunningham Road. Justice Raghavendra

S Chauhan passed an order in a petition complaining that the hospital was using its basement to collect their medical waste.
