Duo recalls their 'Road to Peace' trip across 20 countries

Raj Kumar and Vinay Ranganathan, who had embarked on a mission to spread the message of peace across the world, shared their experiences during the trip.

As part of the ‘Road to Peace’ project, the duo visited 20 countries covering over 16,000 km in 40 days. The trip began in December 2016 and ended in February 2017.

After Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and former prime minister HD Deve Gowda flagged off their trip, the duo set off in a car named ‘Selfie’. The duo travelled across Italy, Germany, Serbia, Romania, Hungary, Bulgaria, Montenegro, Herzegovina, Bosnia, Slovenia, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Turkey and other countries and shared the message of peace and harmony during their interaction with locals.

“I have always loved travelling and wished to travel the world. But I wanted my travel to have a purpose and this gave birth to ‘Road to Peace’. Our mission was to spread the message of friendship and love across borders,” said Kumar.

“One of the moving experiences we encountered during the journey was when a Bosnian lady saw our car and came to speak to us. On knowing about our trip and its purpose, she shared a ‘Bhagwat Gita’ and said she was very inspired by India and its varied culture and religions,” said Kumar.

The two plan to travel to Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia, Malaysia and Singapore on the next leg of their trip.
