People's problems- Debris dumped on road

Last Updated 30 April 2017, 21:03 IST

Civic authorities have been dumping construction material on 2nd Main Road, Kasturinagar, for over two months now. The dumping started after the maintenance of a nearby park was completed recently. The debris poses a danger to vehicle users and walkers alike. The authorities should either remove the material or move it to the roadside until the work is completed.

Zebra crossing, hump needed
Residents have been pressing for zebra crossing and speed breakers near Syndicate Bank on Vidyaranyapura Main Road. Several accidents have taken place on the road and there is an urgent need for zebra crossing as well as speed breakers. I hope the traffic police take note of the matter and do something at the earliest.

Beef up security at Cubbon Park
The Cubbon Park authorities need to be pulled up for sleeping over security matters and failing to renew the contract of security guards that expired two years ago. The fact that a woman was raped in the park a couple of years ago makes the cry for security much louder. Being one of the biggest lung spaces in the city, the park is the favourite haunt of walkers, joggers, picnickers, nature lovers and people just looking to have a good time. It is imperative that the authorities pay heed to the security concerns at the park.

Wrongly booked for traffic violation
On April 20, my daughter received a notice from the traffic police to pay a fine of Rs 100 for jumping signal on February 9 around 4.15 pm at Aurobindo Circle (vehicle No KA04HN7620). But the truth is that my daughter was working at a private firm in Mahadevapura near KR Puram at that time and the said vehicle was in the parking lot. She logged out of office only at 9:45 pm. Moreover, we live in Jalahalli whereas Aurobindo Circle is in JP Nagar. Since the notice was from the traffic police, we paid the fine (receipt No 55965 dated April 29) for no fault of ours. It would be better if the traffic police enter the correct vehicle number while sending the notice.

Provide bus shelter
There is no bus shelter at the Ramakrishna Ashram bus stop on Bull Temple Road in Shankarapuram (beside McDonalds) where buses bound for Hanumanthanagar and Hosakerehalli halt. Passengers end up standing and waiting for buses in the absence of a bus shelter.

Traffic chaos on Crescent Road
Passing through Crescent Road near the Karnataka Film Chamber and Commerce office, adjacent to Bharath Seva Dal School, is nothing short of a nightmare for motorists and pedestrians. With KSRTC, BMTC, APSRTC and private buses plying on this narrow road, there is persistent traffic chaos and confusion.

No Metro signboard at city rail station
Neither the subway opposite the city railway station nor the exit point has any Metro signage. Passengers often do not know where the Metro station is located. I request the Metro officials to put up signboards in and around city railway station for the convenience of the public.
