Couple killed in bike-truck collision on NICE Road

A man and his wife were killed in when their bike hit a stationary truck near Basapura on NICE Road on Sunday afternoon.

The police gave the names of the victims as Yogaraj (65) and Geethamani (55), residents of Doddanagamangala in Anekal taluk in Bengaluru Urban district.

The accident occurred around 3.30 pm when the couple was returning home after attending a family function at RPC Layout in Vijayanagar. Due to a technical snag, a driver had parked a truck on roadside. Yogaraj lost balance while taking a turn and rear-ended the truck.

The couple, who were injured in the collision, were taken to a nearby hospital. Doctors declared them brought dead, the police said. The Electronics City Traffic police have registered a case and are hunting for the truck driver.
