Passengers on all buses of KSRTC, NWKRTC and NEKRTC will have access to an infotainment bank containing some of the best movies and entertainment programmes.

“Passengers travelling in 17,000 buses can log on to an intranet network to avail the infotainment services besides free internet up to 10 MB through WiFi. We expect to launch the programme within a month,” a KSRTC official said, adding that this was part of the measures taken to increase passenger comfort.

KSRTC chairman K Gopala Poojary on Thursday announced that the KSRTC will resume supply of 500 ml packaged drinking water to passengers in premium services, including Airavat and AC sleeper services.
“KSRTC will provide bottles to 29,000 passengers in 626 premium services every day.

We estimate that we will procure one crore water bottles per year at Rs 4.30 each,” he said.
The KSRTC also plans to set up reverse osmosis (RO) plants in all its major bus stations where people can get a litre of water at Re 1.

Passengers travelling in premium buses between 5 am and 11 am will get complimentary newspapers.
In the initial stage, passengers departing from airport, Kempegowda bus station, satellite bus stations on Mysuru Road and Shantinagar in Bengaluru and bus stations in Mysuru will get the newspapers.

All the 8,400 KSRTC buses have been fitted with Radio Frequency Identification to make automatic payments at the toll gates, which will help save time at entry and exit points.
