'Vijay is a versatile actor'

'Maasthi Gudi’ has run into a lot of trouble and for all the wrong reasons.

Actors Anil and Uday lost their lives during the making of the movie. After the movie’s release, director Naga Shekar says that he misses having Anil and Uday around. “Anil and Uday began their careers in a small way and they have been doing only small roles till now. In ‘Maasthi Gudi’, I had given them prominent roles to play, because I wanted them to do well in their careers,” says Naga Shekar.      

The story is based on a real- life incident that took place in the city a few years ago. “I like to work on scripts that are inspired by reality because people will surely be able to relate to those happenings. This movie traces the life of a man through 25 years. The changes in the man’s character have been captured and documented very well,” explains Naga Shekar.  He says that actor Vijay, who has also written the script, has been given five looks in the film.

“Vijay has been given five distinct looks in the film. He has played the role of a 25-year-old man and wears the look of an 81-year-old with ease and confidence,” he adds. About Vijay’s performance, Naga Shekar says, “He has done a brilliant job and portrayed the different age groups well. He has managed to bring out the emotions of a person belonging to that particular age. Vijay is a versatile actor,” he adds.

The director has roped in Kriti Kharbanda and Amoolya to play prominent roles in the film. “We don’t want to disclose the roles that these two young actors are essaying but I can say that they play an important role in changing the course of the film. Every actor has been chosen after a lot of thought and each of them has an important part to play in the film,” says Naga Shekar.     

The film has been shot in the forest areas bordering Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. “There are a lot of interesting scenes that have been shot in the remote areas in the forest region. The action sequences and the choice of locations are the unique features of the film,” he adds.
