Man held for molestation

The city police took into custody a man for molesting women in Nagarabhavi. The suspect, Vinuth Kumar (33), is a resident of Srigandhada Kaval. According to the police, a student of National Law School of India University and her friends were standing in front of a lassi shop between Nagarabhavi and Jnanabharathi at 9 pm recently.

The suspect molested a girl and escaped. The victim and her friends chased and caught him with the help of locals. They informed the police who came to the spot and detained Vinuth Kumar.

During questioning, the suspect revealed that he had indulged in a similar act about a month ago. Two girls were standing near Rolls on Wheels hotel between Jnanabharathi and Nagarabhavi on April 10 at 9 pm. Vinuth Kumar molested a girl and tried to grab her. However, he went away after she gave him an earful.

Quoting the suspect’s family members, the police said he does not indulge in such acts intentionally. They said he is undergoing treatment for a psychological disorder and his behaviour may be due to the effect of the medication.
