For those rainy days

Thanks to the rain for the last couple of days, the temperature in the city has gone down. It’s wonderful to cuddle up in a warm blanket and get cosy at home. But the moisture can get to us and start affecting our skin.

But fret not. There are certain tricks one can try to enjoy this damp weather just a little better.

Care for your hair: To protect your hair from hair fall, avoid using too much chemicals. Oil your hair and leave it on for a few hours. Wash your hair gently with mild shampoo. Don’t forget to condition your hair! Include vegetables and proteins in your diet and drink plenty of water.

It’s important to scrub your face at least twice a week. Avoid using oil based creams and try to not wear too much makeup.

Use a cleanser so that your skin pores will open and breathe a little. Use a good skin toner — take it in a cotton ball and apply it all over your skin.

If you have dry skin, drink lots of water and stay hydrated. A solution of jojoba oil, fresh curd and honey applied as a mask for 10 minutes will be effective.

In case of oily skin type, use facial scrubs to unclog the pores and exfoliate the skin. Using hot water instead of cold will help dissolve the oil easily.

Applying oil and rose water as a moisturiser and washing it away after 10 minutes will be beneficial.
