Bus stop inaccessible

The road leading to the BMTC bus stop opposite Carmel Convent School on East End Road, Jayanagar 4th ‘T’ Block, gets flooded within minutes of downpour. The bus stop is used by schoolchildren and scores of others.

Chaos at Udupi Garden signal
The Udupi Garden junction in BTM layout is one of the busiest traffic intersections in the city as it leads to the Silk Board junction. But there is poor enforcement of traffic rules at this junction as riders zoom past the petrol bunk even if the signal is red. The less said the better about the numerous private cabs and buses that openly break the rules by ferrying passengers on this route. One wonders when will the RTO wake up.

Shop causes nuisance
A shop named ‘Snow Breeze’ at the dead-end of 27th Main, BTM 1st Stage, has been causing a nuisance to motorists and pedestrians. Since it is located at a blind corner, customers park their two-wheelers haphazardly and smoke cigarettes sipping coffee served by the shop. Small roadside eateries mushroom around the shop in the evenings and traffic always gets blocked.

Grievance of a senior citizen
I paid property tax online at the BBMP ward office at Jeevan Bima Nagar, but the bill was not generated. The staff tried to generate the bill more than once. As a result, the amount from my bank account has been deducted thrice. My application number is 1600624691. I contacted the BBMP revenue inspectors concerned several times but there has been no response. I will be thankful if the BBMP refunds the excess amount.

House tax woes
The residential property tax on my house - # 24, 6th cross, II stage, Nagarabhavi had gone up by over 100% when I tried to pay tax online recently. The dimensions of the house have been altered while entering them, with the result that the tax for the current year has gone up. The system is also showing arrears for last year. When I checked with BBMP, there was no satisfactory answer, except that I should contact ARO of the ward. I came to know that several other house owners have also been affected. I request BBMP commissioner to take note of this and rectify the problem.

Illegal water pumps
Residents of HSR Layout 7th sector are indulging in illegal activities by connecting the suction pumps in their houses to the BWSSB water line. Whenever BWSSB turns on the water supply, they switch on the pumps, resulting in severe water shortage for other residents. We have personally gone to those residents and explained to them about the consequences, but they continue the same. We also have complained at the BBMP and BWSSB offices, but no action has been taken.

Incomplete underpass work
The second underpass connecting Malleswaram to Srirampuram (after Sampige cinema) seems to be taking its own time for completion. The earlier it is ready the better it is for easing traffic. BBMP should ensure early completion of this much-needed
facility.

Protect the trees
The busy Kanakapura Road once had plenty of trees. But scores of them have been cut down for Metro construction and other buildings.

Cutting the trees is not a healthy sign and I wish the government compensates the loss by planting more saplings and maintaining them
properly.

Stagnant water in drains
The water in the drains near Gerupalya remains stagnant, due to which the mosquito menace has worsened. Residents are facing health issues because of this. The area comes under the Kumbalgodu industrial area phase 2. The local  authorities are requested to look into the issue.

Introduce bus route
I request BMTC to introduce a new bus route between Jayanagar 9th block and Kengeri railway station via Gandhi Bazaar, Chamarajpet, Nayandahalli and Kengeri TTMC, especially from 5 am-6 am and 9 pm-11 pm. This will be of immense help to a number of daily commuters.

Asphalt Nallurahalli road
The New Temple Road in Nallurahalli, Whitefield (Hagadur ward), has been in pathetic condition for the past three years. Since it has been not asphalted, the road poses danger to pedestrians and motorists, especially during the rain given the big potholes and pointy stones in it. Around 300 flats are located on this stretch. Hundreds of residents and villagers use the road since it is a shortcut and can reduce traffic on Nallurahalli Main Road. Despite multiple requests and complaints to the BBMP, no action has been taken to asphalt the road. We request the BBMP to sort the problem at the earliest.

Street on KHB Road inundated
The street at 1st Cross, KHB Road, behind Pushpanjali Theatre, Sultanpalya, has been experiencing severe waterlogging for the past one year and the recent rain makes it worse. We are unable to take our vehicles out and can’t even walk. There is also the mosquito menace. We fear the outbreak of dengue and other mosquito-borne diseases.
