Last Updated 23 May 2017, 19:38 IST

Civic workers across Karnataka have threatened to go on strike starting Thursday in protest against the non-fulfilment of promises made by the government and ignoring their demands.

The government had promised to regularise the services of civic workers working on contract basis and pay them revised salaries.

Addressing a press conference on Tuesday, Karnataka Pourakarmika Mahasangha president Narayan said, “The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike has not paid the revised monthly salary of Rs 14,740 for the past three months to civic workers. The court order against hiring civic workers on contract has not been followed yet.”
