The police are on the lookout for a man who molested a woman after posing as a senior bank officer in Mico Layout.

The incident occurred on May 15 when the victim, a native of Udupi, had come to the city to appear for an interview for a leading bank on Bannerghatta Road.

She had applied for the post of customer support executive. A man approached her outside the bank and introduced himself as Rohan, a senior officer from the bank’s human resources department. He claimed that she had failed to clear the fourth round test and asked her to accompany him for a discussion outside, said the police.

When she refused, he tried to drag her into the car, but she managed to escape and run into the bank. “When the victim enquired with senior officers about Rohan, they clarified that no one by that name was working with the bank. Later, she approached the police and lodged a complaint,” said a police officer.

The man had shared his number with the victim. On checking, the police found that it was an Uttar Pradesh number. The police have collected CCTV footage from the bank to ascertain his identity.
The police have booked him under IPC Section 354 a (sexual harassment).
