Mescom customers shared their grievances with officials during the grievance redressal meeting held at Mescom divisional office in Kadur on Tuesday.

Chikkamagaluru and Shivamogga division superintending engineer M C Narendra chaired the meeting.
Maccheri village residents said the power is not being supplied as per schedule and the power cuts have been erratic. Power supply for domestic usage too is not being supplied properly. This irregularity is due to the negligence by the officials, they complained.

Mescom divisional office assistant engineer Chidanand said that as there is a need to supply cement bricks unit near Maccheri, the electricity was distributed judicially. Now, the power is supplied on alternative basis to the unit and the village, he explained.

Narendra directed to supply power in three stages, so that the domestic activities are not hit.

Kisan Cell unit president M Paremeshwarappa said that Naranapura is hit by the voltage fluctuation problem. Power is not supplied to irrigation pumpsets in Singatagere. Even though there is a maintenance unit for transformers in Kadur, the maintenance is being done outside.

Mescom Kadur divisional office executive engineer Romraj said that a proposal has been submitted to form a separate section comprising villages, Panchanagalli, Kasaba Mattighatta and others, in Singatagere hobli.

Narendra said that Rs 1.05 crore project has been sanctioned for the installation of express line from Nagenahalli to Ayyanakere, towards drinking water. The revised S R Tarriff has been implemented from April 1. A total of 155 various projects related to electricity, are in progress. Directions have been received by the higher officials to complete the projects worth Rs 11.94 crore as soon as possible. The delay of Byagadehalli-Emmedoddi Express line is due to the procrastination by the contractors, he said.

A total of Rs 122 crore has been sanctioned for various electricity projects in both urban and rural areas under Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Rural Electrification project. With the grants obtained in the project, issues related to electricity in rural areas, along with that of Kadur, Birur and Tarikere towns will be addressed too, he added.
