Airtel rolls out 'Digital TV Recorder'

It will be available from second week of April and is priced at Rs 6,990 for new customer, and Rs 5,990 as an upgradation for existing customer. With this, DTH users can record TV shows using a GPRS-enabled mobile phone from any where anytime.

Breifing reporters Bharti Airtel DTH Chief Operating Officer (COO) V Raviganesh said “users now have three options for watching TV — watch one channel and record another, record two channels while DTH is on a standby mode or can even record two channels while viewing a recorded version.”

To avail the facility customers need to send an SMS from their GPRS mobile phone linked to Airtel digital TV account with ‘mguide’ to 54325 and can download the application.The other features include storage capacity of 100 hours, search television shows seven days in advance using remote and two days in advance using mobile. It also can pause live television programmes, rewind and view programmes and a fixed time base recording facility.  Airtel also said it verified the mobile application using more than 225 phone models and it supported the application.
