Majestic subway a prostitution den

The subway at Majestic has been occupied by vendors while a part of it that links the KSRTC bus station has become a den of prostitutes.

Transgender sex workers solicit clients right under the nose of policemen who seem to have closed their eyes to such activities.

A source in the jurisdictional Upparpet police station, however, insisted that “honest efforts” had been made to crack down on the prostitution racket.

“We clear the space regularly and counsel those running the racket. The law says we have to see them as victims. So, we cannot take any action against them,” the source said.

Police say it’s up to the BBMP to remove the hawkers, who block the remaining part of the subway which links the railway station with the BMTC bus station.
