Young Jolie a hit at photo auction
Superstar Angelina Jolie's teenage photographs were a huge hit with the crowd at a vintage Hollywood photo auction.
The early photos of a 15-year-old Angelina Jolie, part of Profiles in History's Vintage Glamour Photography auction, fetched more than six times their expected sale price, Contactmusic reported.
Some of the Harry Langdon shots were featured in a lot that also included rare photos of Raquel Welch, Halle Berry, Richard Burton, George Clooney and Farrah Fawcett. These went under the hammer for USD 122,400
But Jolie's pictures were sold separately and were a highlights of the sale. "They garnered much bidding interest. They sold individually for over USD 2,500 each - more than six times their expected sale price," a spokesman said. An iconic shot of actress Jean Harlow posing on a bear rug, shot by George Hurrell for Vanity Fair, sold for USD 60,000.
