In a meeting yesterday, the Opposition announced Meira Kumar, former Lok Sabha speaker, as their Presidential Polls nominee. While many people saw the move as an attempt by the opposition parties to counter the NDA's momentum following Ram Nath Kovind's nomination, Twitter took a different stance on the matter.
Just a short while after the nomination, Twitter was flooded with memes around Meira Kumar's infamous reputation for asking people to 'sit down' during her tenure as the Lok Sabha speaker, and that reputation came back in a big way yesterday.
